Sunday, September 2, 2012
8pm to 2am
The event, one of few that is open to the public, is scheduled for 8 p.m. Sept. 2, 2012 at the NC Dance Theatre in uptown Charlotte. It is expected be the defining LGBT event of the Democratic National Convention.

The party will celebrate the indomitable spirit of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community across the country, as well as right here in the Carolinas. LGBT Americans and their straight allies are expected to attend the public party to support equality and unity.

Attendees are expected to include prominent members of the North Carolina LGBT community, LGBT delegates to the Democratic National Convention, business leaders, elected officials, celebrities, family, friends and supporters of LGBT citizens.
The Unity party will send a strong, positive message:
Loving acceptance is the norm and there is no place
for hate in our state.
